Vietnam to reinforce slot machines control
Vietnamese government announced stricter regulation for slot machines operations.
Vietnam.- As gambling laws are being reviewed by the official government of Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, foreign-use slot machines would face stricter regulation and control in current authorised casinos. The new regulation follows the Decree 175/2016/ND-CP approved on December 30, 2016.
According to Vietnamese newspapers, the legal slot machines installed in casinos nationwide, which are only available for foreign players, would be modified to offer a payout percentage of 90 percent. Authorised operators would have to obtain the re-certification by the government to prove their slot machines meet the new conditions.
Both new slot machines and current operating machines must add the 90 percent payout offering into software installation in factory. Furthermore, casino companies that would go to re-certification process must also be operating in G7 countries (Germany, Canada, US, France, Italy, Japan and UK).
The Vietnamese government has recently announced the suspension of the slot machine project to install games at international airports. The proposal would be assessed among with new project to allow Vietnamese residents to enter to casinos.
