Valencia’s lottery sales grow
Lottery in Valencia posted sales of over US$1 billion in 2018 and ranked as the fourth region with the highest sales in the entire country.
Spain.- In 2018, Andalusia, Madrid and Catalonia led lottery sales across Spain. However, the Valencian Community was fourth, after breaking the US$1 billion mark in sales last year.
According to the authorities, Lottery and ‘Primitiva’ sales reached the US$1.16 billion mark. They represented almost 13% of total sales in Spain.
Valencia registered lottery sales for US$607 million (1.04% more than in 2017). Alicante followed with US$438 million (+0.22%) and Castellón with US$122.8 million (+2.3%).
DGOJ seeks to improve tax payments
The gaming sector in Spain is one of the most questioned in the country. But, also, it is one of the main contributors to financial and social development. Therefore, regulator DGOJ will strengthen its work with the Tax Agency (AEAT).
As revealed by the DGOJ, the cooperation agreement between the two organizations was renewed last week. “In this way, based on the agreement signed in 2014, the flow of information between the two institutions is reinforced. Regulating the stable and periodic system of data exchange that contributes to both adequately fulfilling their functions,” they said.
