The American Gaming Association says casinos had their best second quarter on record, taking in $13.6bn.

US.- The American Gaming Association has released data showing that America’s casinos had their best second quarter ever this year, taking in $13.6bn.

Casinos nearly equalled all the total revenue from 2020 despite restrictions continuing into the start of the quarter.

With nearly $25bn taken in the first six months, the year now looks set to be the highest-grossing ever, on course to surpass 2019’s $43.6bn in revenue.

Bill Miller, the association’s president and CEO said: “These first-half results are truly remarkable. “Covid-19 is not yet in the rearview mirror, but I’m confident the record first half of 2021 has laid a strong foundation for the industry’s full recovery.”
