UK operator finishes operations of Bradford venue

UK’s largest casino operator Grosvenor Casinos is closing its Bradford venue.

UK.- According to Grosvenor Casinos’ statement released during the weekend, the company is closing its Bradford venue as they are not achieving the expected results. The company is the UK’s largest multi-channel casino operator with 56 clubs (54 in UK, two in Belgium), as Totally Gaming informed.

Debbie Husband, national operations director for Grosvenor Casinos, explained the reasons behind the decision to shut Bradford down. She noted: “Admissions have been in long-term and consistent decline and we are no longer operating profitably. This decision has not been taken lightly and club closures are always a last resort. However, Grosvenor Bradford has been challenged for some time and has reached a point where it is no longer viable to continue trading.”

He added: “We have many customers who will share our sadness with this news and we do have Grosvenor Huddersfield and Grosvenor Leeds available to visit. We also have grosvenorcasinos.com for those customers who wish to carry on playing online.”

According to Rank’s last financials in 2017, Grosvenor earned £397.2 million revenue with an operating profit of £52.1 million. Customer visits across its estate stood at 7.7 million per annum with a total spend per visit of £51.37.
