UK bookmaker launches Whatsapp betting tips
Private bookmaker Fitzdares has launched a “first of its kind” tipping service using Whatapp voice notes recorded by famous names.
UK.- Fitzdares has launched what it has billed as the world’s first betting tips service via Whatsapp voice notes.
Dubbed WhatSport, the “first of its kind” service will offer “punditry updates” via exclusive WhatsApp voice notes recorded by famous broadcast names – John Motson for football, Cornelius Lysaght for racing and Sir Geoffrey Boycott for cricket.
Fitzdares already uses WhatsApp instant messaging to offer one-to-one communication with customers as an alternative to mass social media such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
Members who opt-in to the new WhatSport service will receive voice notes of up to a couple of minutes in length offering comments and insights on upcoming matches and race meetings.
Fitzdares CEO, William Woodhams, said: “Want to know what to look out for in the forthcoming FA Cup final? Motty has you covered. Looking for a horse to back at Glorious Goodwood? Cornelius is your man. Unsure who you feel England should pick to best the Windies in the test decider? Sir Geoffrey tells it like it is.
“At Fitzdares, we strive to do things differently for our members and we think social media has reached a point of saturation in terms of the market for punditry and opinion.
“WhatsApp creates a far more intimate environment and we are sure our members will appreciate the personal touch of hearing directly from some of the most treasured voices in sport via their smartphones.
“There’s clearly a lot of love and appreciation for the voices of our experts. The most experienced commentators in the game can now use our fun platform to break new technological ground.”
Fitzdares is a private members-only bookmaker founded in 2006.
