Station Casinos president dies in watercraft accident
Richard J. Haskins, president of Red Rock Resorts and Station Casinos, has died in a watercraft accident in Michigan.
US.- Richard J. Haskings, president of Red Rock Resorts and Station Casinos, died in a watercraft accident while on vacation in Michigan on July 4.
Aged 56, Haskings served at Station Casinos for 25 years, becoming vice-president from early 2011 and president in October 2015.
The company owns 20 gaming properties across Southern Nevada. It’s best known venue is The Palms Casino Resort near the Las Vegas Strip, Red Rock Resort in Summerlin and Green valley Ranch Resort in Henderson. It operates Graton Casino in Northern California for the Graton Rancheria Tribe.
According to the company, the board of directors expects to make further announcements regarding its plan of succession in the following days.
Frank Fertitta III, CEO and chairman of the Red Rock Resorts board of directors, said in a statement:
“Words cannot express what Rich has meant to the company and to me in the 25 years he has been with Station Casinos. He was a trusted advisor, a brilliant strategist, a steady hand in good times and in bad and most important – a friend to all. It is very hard to imagine Station Casinos being the company it is today without Rich. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children, his family and his loved ones.”
The company said Haskins was on vacation when he was found dead after a tragic accident.
