Seminole Hard Rock unveil casino details
The venture revealed the first details of the upcoming Miami casino, which will be guitar-shaped.
US.- Leaders of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Hard Rock International unveiled on Wednesday the progress of their upcoming gambling facility that will be located in Hollywood, Florida. The biggest surprise if that the building will be guitar-shaped to honor Hard Rock’s original design.
The ceremony that took place on Wednesday unveiled new information of the new 638-room hotel, which only features a few stories at the moment. Hard Rock has been trying to build a guitar-shaped building for years, and is now moving forward after an agreement with the state of Florida.
The deal signed with Governor Rick Scott that granted the Seminole Tribe the exclusive rights to offer banked card games including blackjack until 2030 was finalized in July after the original plan expired in 2015. Nevertheless, the agreement between the tribe and the international company is set to become an economic reward for the state as the US$1.5 billion project will bring approximately 3000 ongoing jobs and 10.000 construction jobs to South Florida.
The new Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood is expected to debut in summer 2019, local media reported. CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International, James Allen, said that the idea of a guitar-shaped hotel was born almost ten years ago. “I said, ‘We are talking about a building that is actually shaped like a guitar. This is another time in my life when people thought I was certifiably crazy.”
The facility will feature several dining options and lounges, a 41.000 square foot spa and the addition of 1270 rooms at the hotel. Moreover, the 5,500-seat Hard Rock Live arena will get demolished and replaced with a 7000 seat theater style venue with its own television studio and broadcast center.
The casino will double in size and offer more than 3260 slot machines and 178 table games, including blackjack and baccarat. The venue will receive an additional 60.000 square feet of new restaurant and retail space.
