Sands Bethlehem plans renovation
Sands Casino Resort is planning on investing millions on an innovative project.
US.- Pennsylvania’s Sands Casino will go through a remodelling phase, as operators announced this weekend. Whilst the State is already debating about the next year’s rules to finance host counties of casinos, Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem would boost its activities by attracting greater amount of visitors.
According to Sands Corp.’s statement, the company would invest US$90 million in its expansion, if the Pennsylvania Gaming Control approved the project in the following months. Operators commented they want to add restaurants, slot machines and 81 table games. The major plan is to create the biggest gaming floor among Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos.
“We are well above capacity, particularly on the weekend, we know there are nights when people can’t find an open slot machine or a seat at a table they can afford. There’s a need to add space to handle the demand,” expressed Sand’s chief executive officer Mark Juliano. The construction would begin in January 2017.
“They’ve been a good community partner and it’s great to see them continuing to invest here,” Bethlehem Mayor Robert Donchez commented, “But I’d like to see them start moving across the Steel property with that investment. I’m hoping this is the start of more to come.”
