US.- Parx Casino expands its operations in Pennsylvania as it takes advantage of the benefits of offering sports betting. Parx will host the grand opening of its new sportsbook tomorrow at 3 pm.
The sportsbook features a 7,400 square-foot floor with a 15-foot-high wall that can show up to 36 games simultaneously. It will have six live tellers, 18 kiosks, 200 seats and three VIP areas. Moreover, it will also feature a bar with 38 seats.
Parx Casino has been offering sports betting services at a temporary sportsbook since it was approved in the fall. The facility decided to invest US$10 million for an expansion that includes a new sportsbook area.
While sports betting obtained legalisation in the United States in May 2018, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) (the local gaming regulator) approved the first two licences for casinos to offer sports betting services in October. Penn National Gaming and Parx were the recipients of those licences.

Furthermore, combined tax revenue from these gambling modalities for the 2018/2019 fiscal year was US$1.39 billion up from US$1.33 billion in the previous fiscal year.
