OPAP’s new platform is on track

The Greek gambling monopoly revealed that its new digital platform is on track for launch during 1Q18.

Greece.- The betting company OPAP revealed late last week that its new digital platform is on track for launch in the first quarter of 2018. The Greek gambling monopoly also said that 100 self service betting terminals (SSBTS) are now operational.

The company announced the investment of up to 100 million euros for the next few years. The revelation was during a bourse filling and also included the information that more than 200 jobs in Greece have been created this year and that Intralot and Novomatic remain the most important partners of the company.

Last week, Intralot and Opap agreed the extension of their cooperation in the field of numerical lotteries and services with the signing of a new three-year contract that also includes an option for OPAP to renew for an additional two years.

This extension is consistent with OPAP’s 2020 Vision and the Strategic Priorities of “leveraging the latest digital and technology capabilities” and “building a world class portfolio of products and services”.  The new agreement includes the delivery of INTRALOT’s latest lottery platforms and significant commercial improvements over the next few years.
