OPAP to continue sponsorship with sports team
The Greek company OPAP has revealed that it will continue the sponsorship cooperation with football team Panathinaikos Athletic Club.
Greece.- OPAP, one of the biggest gaming operators of Europe, has announced that it is entering the second consecutive year of sponsorship cooperation with Panathinaikos Athletic Club. The company aims to bring together sports and society.
OPAP Deputy CEO Odysseas Christoforou explained that they want to enhance the relationship between sports and society. And the CEO said that one of the examples is the Athens Marathon. “This year as well, we have already engaged more than 250,000 of our co-citizens via the “OPAP Contribution Squad” app.”
OPAP supports professional and amateur sports, as well as the society, said VP and CEO of DPG Group of Companies Panagiotis Triantopoulos. “We have cooperated many times with success. I believe that we have more to offer to sports and the society in the future,” the VP added.
OPAP to complete Stoiximan Group acquisition
HCC, the markets & competition authority in Greece, has approved a major deal in the country. Greek market leader OPAP has acquired a 51% stake in online bookmaker Stoiximan Group, a deal soon to be completed.
The company will pay €95 million for the majority stake, as it offered early this year. Once done, subsidiary ‘OPAP Investments’, will co-share ownership of Stoiximan with enterprise investors TCB Holdings and maintain the stake.
