OPAP rolls out 25k VLTs in Greece

The Greek company OPAP has announced that it has completed the rollout of 25k VLTs in the territory.

Greece.- OPAP has revealed that it successfully concluded the full rollout of 25k VLT machines in December 2019. The rollout started on January 11, 2017, and concluded last month as planned by the Greek company.

OPAP said that this rollout has been among the largest and most demanding VLT projects worldwide. The machines were supplied by Inspired and the Synot Group, as per the Greek company.

“OPAP remains committed to the project’s success, generating significant returns for all stakeholders, while at the same time adhering fully to its legal and contractual obligations and endorsing responsible gaming principles,” said the company.

OPAP registered good financial results

In the third quarter of 2019, OPAP posted net profits of €48.8 million, representing a 24.5% increase from the €39.2 million in 2018. Gaming gross revenue (GGR) in the third quarter increased by 6.7% year-on-year based on €393.6 million as a result of strong lotteries’ performance, increased contribution of VLTs and scratch & lottery recovery.

For the first nine months of the year, net profits totalled €140.6 million, up by 33.6% from the €105.2 million in the same period last year. GGR in the nine-month period tose 6% to €1.17 billion.
