Nevada sportsbooks to expand in the US

Companies which were already thriving in Nevada are set to operate in new states as the segment gets legalised across the country.

US.- The Supreme Court of the United States ruled the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) to be unconstitutional and cleared the way for sports betting legalisation across the country. As several states are regulating the segment and companies deploy their offerings, Nevada sportsbooks are set to take over the market and expand out of the western state.

“It is something that we have been looking at for quite some time,” Jay Kornegay with the Westgate SuperBook said, as the company works to operate branded SuperBooks in other states. “We’ve really put it into fourth gear here, as we looked at some of the opportunity out there,” he added.

Besise the SuperBook, other big casino sportsbooks are looking forward to launching their own operations in other jurisdictions. “I think one of the biggest challenges is brand recognition, people don’t really know the brands from Nevada and other states,” UNLV’s Center for Gaming Research director David Schwarz said about companies deploying their business across the US.

While states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia already passed their own sports betting legislation, Mr Kornegay explained that the segment’s regulation in the country “is not a sprint” – “It is a learning process for all of us. The different platforms, the different regulations, the legislation is different,” he assessed.
