Nevada Gov. confirms June 4 date for casino reopening
Gov. Steve Sisolak confirms casino in Nevada will be able to reopen on June 4 but with hygiene and safety measures in place.
US.- Gov. Steve Sisolak has confirmed the target date of June 4 for casinos in Nevada to reopen to the public after being closed for months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sisolak has confirmed the date, which gives casinos in Las Vegas and across the state of Nevada just over a week to prepare to reopen, including introducing additional hygiene and safety measures.
He said: “We will certainly be welcoming visitors back to Nevada on June 4. We’ve taken every precaution possible. I don’t think you’re going to find a safer place to come than Las Vegas.
“The [Nevada Gaming Control] Board will issue an industry notice [Wednesday] setting forth requirements for the resumption of gaming operations in the state of Nevada.”
Sisolak was due to take questions from reporters in a press conference regarding the reopening, but had to cancel due to potential exposure to Covid-19.
