Nascar unveils gambling policy
The measure bans all members from participating in gambling activities related to its event.
US.- NASCAR released on Monday a new set of policies that ban all members from participating in legally or illegally gambling activities related to the event. NASCAR had first announced that new sanctions would be in place for 2019 in October 2018.
The policy, which covers all members who hold a NASCAR licence, establishes that members shall not “engage, nor attempt to engage” in any legal or illegal gambling activity in which NASCAR is involved, including events like Monster Energy NASCAR Cup or Xfinity
The new guideline also bans the same conduct “that in the judgment of NASCAR could represent the potential for a conflict of interest, unsportsmanlike conduct, or other action(s) detrimental to stock car auto racing or NASCAR.”
It applied to all gambling activities, such as the one available at casinos, lottery gaming facilities, race tracks or internet and electronic devices. It also prohibits members from engaging in legal or illegal gambling activity related to off-track actions.
