Maryland casinos revenue improves in January
During January, Maryland casinos reported a US$127.8 million revenue, growing 1.2 per cent from the same month in 2017.
US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming revealed on Monday that the state’s six casinos achieved a year-on-year revenue grow of 1.2 per cent to US$127.8 million in January. That’s merely US$1.6 million more than 2017’s US$126.2 million as not all venues accomplished good results.
The increase was pushed by MGM and Ocean Downs, while the rest of the casinos saw their sales dropping from last year. MGM reported a 2.9 per cent increase to US$50.2 million and Ocean Downs grew a staggering 23.6 per cent to US$4.5 million. Nonetheless, their success was dragged down by a poor performance on the other four venues.
The Live! Casino at Arundel Mills mall reported a 1 per cent decline in sales to US$43.5 million, while the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore reported a 0.7 per cent decrease to US$20 million. Furthermore, the Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County had sales of US$5.7 million, and dropped 1.2 per cent year-on-year and the Rocky Gap generated US$3.7 million, falling 1.1 per cent in comparison to January 2017.
