Manila casinos revenue increase

Pagcor released the gaming revenue numbers for the third quarter.

Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) announced the gaming revenue results for casinos in Manila for the third quarter of 2016. The numbers showed an increase of 11 percent between June and September of this year, whilst earnings rise to US$800 million.

One of the reasons why Manila saw an increase in its revenue was the efforts made by junket operators in the land based sector, which experiences a rise in gaming revenues of 12 percent to US$686 million. Almost 20 percent of this growth was created by the facilities located near and in the Entertainment City gaming zone.

On the other hand, Pagcor casinos only recorded US$160 million in earnings, a 1.6 percent growth compared to the same period in 2015. Non-junket revenues dropped 13 percent to US$64 million, whilst junket numbers improved and recorded US$27 million in earnings.
