Las Vegas Club continues demolition
The downtown Las Vegas casino continues its demolition to make way for a new resort.
US.- The downtown casino Las Vegas Club is continuing its demolition in order to pave the way for a new resort, even if no definitive plans have been announced for the lot. The facility had been purchased in August 3015 by Derek and Greg Stevens.
An entire block in downtown Las Vegas is being demolished in order to create more space for a new resort, Derek Stevens said that there will be more rooms once the project is complete than they were when the facility closed for good.
Las Vegas Club had to reopen its doors for a day in June, just so it could keep its license. The Gaming Control Board of Nevada recommended the approval of a plan designed to keep the gaming license of the building. As stipulated by the local regulations, a gambling facility must be open at least eight hours every two years in order to keep the license.
“When we purchased the Las Vegas Club in August (2015), we knew then we wanted to look at a larger footprint. Now that we’ve done this transaction, it completely changes the scope of what the project could become. I’m going to need a little time with my team to start thinking through what this project will look like,” said Derek Stevens, one of the buyers of the facilities, back when he purchased the casinos.
