Hammond Horseshoe Casino to kick off sports betting

Hammond Horseshoe Casino has announced that the facility will kick off its sports betting operations on September 4.

US.- The upcoming National Football League (NFL) season is just around the corner, and states and facilities are rushing to have their sports betting operations in order to enjoy the benefits of it. Hammond Horseshoe Casino has revealed that it will start its sports betting operations on September 4, a day before the NFL kicks off.

Horseshoe Casino Assistant General Manager Noah Hirsch confirmed that construction on the 5,300-square-foot sportsbook is progressing. The General Manager said that the work is likely to be completed by Labor Day.

The launch is likely to happen on September 4, a day before the Chicago Bears play the Green Bay Packers. This is the first NFL regular-season game of the year, featuring a local team. The National Football League is still considered the favourite league among American sports fans.

The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) will meet on August 28 and intends to approve the sports betting regulations.

The sportsbook will feature 16 TV monitors that can show several games at the same time. Up to 100 people can sit in the new sportsbook, previously the promotions desk at the base of an escalator.

“We’re really excited for the energy that it will bring to our casino and to our gaming floor,” Hirsch said. “We think we’re going to be the premier sportsbook for the region, including the Illinois side, for the foreseeable future.”

Indiana currently bans betting on Illinois college sports. “We will certainly have an aggressive approach to making sure there’s an awareness that we are here, and specifically the type of offerings that we’ll have,” Hirsch said. He added that the main concern is making sure that they get their “bricks-and-mortar operations” stood up.
