Greek regulator to change iGaming regulations

The EEEP opened a 10-day period for operators to give their feedback to the recently published list of iGaming rules.

Greece.- Online gaming regulation is one of the top-priority topics for gaming regulators from all over the world and that’s why the Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP) recently published an updated list of rules. However, the body has asked operators to give their feedback on the proposed regulations some time in the next few days.

The list of proposed changes include some amendments to Greek iGaming regulations, which is why the EEEP has given companies until January 25 to submit their comments. Operators and interested parties will be able to respond to new rules, which include responsible gambling controls, among other topics.

Responsible gambling changes include the obligation to clearly feature related information on their website. Player should also be able to set wagering limits, to self-exclude from the website (temporarily or permanently) and operators are required to intervene when they detect problem gambling symptoms.

Furthermore, there are also changes related to online gambling advertising and bonus features in games. Operators will also be required to lay out a central information system in order to improve their security and through which they’ll be required to detect the physical location of a player to ensure that they are playing in Greece.
