Greece opens bid for Elliniko casino
The gaming commission from Greece revealed that it would start accepting bids for the casino licence.
Greece.- The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) announced on Friday that it will start accepting bids for the casino licence to operate the upcoming facility at Athens’ vast former airport complex. Bids to obtain the license must be submitted by April 22.
As published in the EU’s Official Journal, the license will be operational for 30 years. HGC said that it decided to conduct an International Tender for the Concession of a wide-range activities casino Operating License in the Hellinikon – Ag. Kosmas Metropolitan Pole.
“The International Tender will be conducted on the basis of the most economically advantageous offer based on the best price-quality ratio. Interested Parties will be able to receive information about the Tender by accessing the Virtual Data Room (VDR), which contains the Concession Agreement Documents in digital form and other supporting information,” detailed the statement from the commission.
The operator that wins the bid will be in charge of the creation of an Integrated Resort Casino (IRC) to be built over more than 600k square meters which will include hotels, convention centres, themed attractions, a 15k square-meter casino and other attractions. Moreover, the operator must invest no less than €1 billion in the property.
