FanDuel becomes NFL official sportsbook partner in Canada
The firm has signed a multi-year partnership with the National Football League.
US.- FanDuel Group has entered into a multi-year partnership with the National Football League (NFL) as an official sportsbook partner in Canada. The operator will advertise via NFL’s digital platforms, including the league’s website.
FanDuel will use the official NFL and member club IP to engage with fans. It will also create free-to-play games featuring the league along with specialised campaigns. Fanduel customers will have access to contests with prizes including trips to NFL games, such as the Super Bowl.
General manager of FanDuel Canada Dale Hooper said: “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with the NFL to Canada. Ontario sports fans are passionate about American football, and this collaborative effort will bring them more ways to enjoy the sport with friends and family in a fun and responsible way.”
FanDuel has recently made another agreement regarding sports betting services in Canada. It has signed a deal with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), which owns Toronto’s National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL) teams.
The gaming brand is now the official sports betting partner of Maple Leaf Sports. In the same deal, PokerStars was named as an official gaming partner. The partnership will also allow the firms to collaborate on marketing integrations with all MLSE teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Argonauts and Toronto Marlies.
NFL names first VP and general manager for sports betting
The NFL has named David Highhill as its vice president and general manager of sports betting. The new position is the NFL’s first dedicated to the sports betting industry.
Highhill is responsible for tackling gambling-related harm, advancing the league’s reputation, increasing fan engagement and supporting the value of the NFL’s data and intellectual property. He has worked with the NFL for more than 10 years, most recently as vice president of strategy and analytics in the corporate strategy group.
