Downtown Las Vegas keeps growing
Operators of Plaza Hotel and Casino announced an upgrade in its services.
US.- Downtown Las Vegas continues to develop, welcoming more visitors than ever. In the heart of the resurging downtown area, the Plaza Hotel and Casino continues to upgrade its guest experience, launching a multi-million dollar renovation to more than 100 hotel rooms and suites in its North Tower.
Gaming got its start in downtown Las Vegas, an area that has experienced tremendous revitalisation fueled by public and private investment and is now seeing more visitors and increased revenue every year. In fact, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported that the proportion of visitors to Las Vegas who said they visited downtown last year increased significantly to 57 per cent.
Like downtown, the Plaza continues to grow, experiencing increases in revenue, occupancy levels and average daily room rates. It is also welcoming more conventions and special events. The Plaza’s growth is also due in part to significant improvements throughout the property in recent years, including multi-million dollar renovation projects to upgrade the rooftop pool and recreation area, 30,000 sq. ft. of convention space, hotel gym and casino floor.
The latest room renovation will create an upgraded hotel experience with contemporary décor, re-imagined bathrooms and modernised entertainment and climate control systems. Design details are still being finalised but will incorporate styles utilised in the renovations of the Plaza’s pool suites completed last year.
“The Rat Pack era is often thought to be the glory days of downtown Las Vegas. Yet, today downtown Las Vegas is welcoming more guests than ever before,” said Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza. “At the Plaza, we are committed to offering a classic Vegas destination with personalised service and amenities guests have come to expect. We have an award-winning rooftop pool, more dining options than ever before, a fully refurbished convention space, and a reinvigorated casino floor. This hotel room remodel will only enhance the guest experience further and bring even more people downtown.”
