Daniel Magariños: “At GAT Expo, BMM Testlabs will strengthen existing customer relationships and meet with emerging companies”
Daniel Magariños, Sales Manager South America at BMM Testlabs, talked in an exclusive interview with Focus Gaming News about how the company is getting ready for GAT Expo 2022 and what makes the Latin American market different.
Exclusive interview.- GAT Expo 2022 will bring together in Cartagena, Colombia, from March 15 to 17, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, operators and companies from the gaming industry in one place. Daniel Magariños, Sales Manager South America at BMM Testlabs, granted an interview to Focus Gaming News in which he spoke about the company’s expectations for the event and the particularities of the rising Latin American market.
What conversations are you looking forward to having at the GAT Expo?
After analyzing the list of companies that will participate in the exhibition, we decided that our team will have two different approaches.
There are several companies that have been operating in the region for many years, and many of them are already our customers. We will strengthen these existing customer relationships and look forward to discussing how BMM can continue offering our services for their short-term and long-term projects throughout the region.
We are also seeing that there are emerging companies, possible future operators or suppliers, that are entering the Latin American market with great force. We are organizing meetings with them and ensuring that they have our laboratory as a reference in the region. We will guarantee that they can count on our experience and years of excellent certification service in all areas.
Do you think there’s enough awareness of gaming certification in Latin America?
In the last three years we have noticed a rising interest in market regulation in several Latin American countries. There have been advancements in criteria leading the path, and now many Latin American countries are in the process of implementing regulation. There are also other cases that are already officially established.
However, there are countries that still do not offer or require established regulation. We have several customers in these regions that have decided to certify their games through international laboratories. They now have documents that endorse the standards with which the certificate was issued.
How do customers’ requirements differ in Latin America to other markets, and how does BMM Testlabs respond to that?
There are quite a few requirements that differ in Latin American markets. I understand that much of this is because many Latin American countries have been influenced by the regulations and requirements of European countries like Spain and the United Kingdom. However, each country implements their own requirements locally, so they all have differences.
