Casino revenue up in Northwest Indiana

The five casinos in Northwest Indiana increased their revenues year-over-year in December 2018.

US.- According to the latest revenue report by the Indiana Gaming Commission, the five casinos in Northwest Indiana generated US$77.8 million in December, representing a 4.6% increase over the figure recorded in the same month in 2017.

December’s year-over-year increase overshadowed some deficit that the area had noted in previous months: the revenue results for the month were approximately US$4 million higher than what was reported in December 2017.

However, the five facilities experienced a 0.4% decease in total revenues when compared to 2017: both Majestic I and II facilities, Horseshoe, Blue Chip and Ameristar totalled US$935 million in 2018 in revenues, 0.4% less than 2017’s.

Dan Nita, senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Hammond Casino, said: “For the full year, we’re within an eyelash of last year. In light of increasing competition, results that are close to flat are pretty solid.”
