Canadian casinos to extend service
Winnipeg city of Canada would allow 24-hour service of casinos on weekends.
Canada.- Canadian Crown corporations introduced a formal petition to extend the gaming hours in its casinos in Winnipeg city. The company seeks a renovated license to open McPhillips Station and Club Regent casinos 24 hours during the weekends.
Crown corporations and the gaming Committee had a reunion yesterday to debate the proposal. The extended hour project would hold a pilot period for the next four months, starting on December 2. The current schedule is set from 10 am to 3am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The project proposes the opening from 10 am on Friday to 3 am on Monday. Furthermore, when a statutory holiday falls on Monday, both casinos would be opened until Tuesday. “We decided that we would operate a pilot for 24-hour weekends and the reason we did that is we find that we have high visitation, and our most popular times are on weekends,” commented Susan Olynik, vice president of Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Corporation in Winnipeg.
