Canada.- British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has announced the launch of a new programme for employees during its Multiculturalism Week. New flexibility will allow workers to substitute up to six statutory observed holidays in the BCLC calendar with days significant to their personal, cultural, or religious beliefs.

The BCLC was recognised as a “5-Star Diversity & Inclusion Employer” by the Human Resources Director Canada in 2022 due to its efforts in creating an inclusive work environment.

Sandy Austin, BCLC’s chief people officer, said: “As an employer, we recognise that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to holidays and as our work with diversity, inclusion and belonging moves forward, so must our approach to our practices.”

Madhavee Inamdar, manager of diversity, inclusion and belonging, added: “We are incredibly fortunate to have such a diverse workforce and are honouring that diversity and reaffirming our commitment to fostering an inclusive culture at BCLC where all employees feel that they are seen, valued and belong.”
