Bloomberry to develop casino in early 2018
The original plan to develop a casino in 2017 had to be rescheduled due to unsettled legal procedures.
Philippines.- Bloomberry Resorts Corporation announced that the second hotel and casino planned for Quezon City will be likely developed in early 2018. The property in the city still needs to undergo some legal procedures.
Enrique Razon Jr, Boolmberry chairman, said in an interview during the annual meeting of the ICTSI (International Container Terminal Services Incorporated) that they were aiming to start the construction process this year, but the territory is occupied by informal settlers. “We may start construction early next year,” said the official, who also commented that the property will be set to a mixed use between an hotel and a casino. The property was acquired by Bloomberry in 2014 after a negotiated offer that was later accepted by the National Housing Authority (NHA). The Vertis North property is a 1.5 hectare in Quezon City that also includes a TriNoma mall.
Bloomberry currently owns and operates Solaire Resort and Casino, the first one to open under the PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) administration. As reported by Rappler, Bloomberry’s gross revenues increased 19.1 percent in 2016. The chairman is hopeful that the company will remain profitable this year even if new facilities keep opening its doors with the newest technologies.
