“The US market has the potential of becoming the most scalable in the upcoming years”
(Exclusive interview).- Anna Shahbazyan, LatAm Regional Director at BetConstruct, talked to Focus Gaming News about G2E 2019.
The 2019 edition of G2E Las Vegas kicks off tomorrow at the Sands Expo, and the biggest companies of the industry will showcase their products and novelties to visitors from all over the world.
Leading operator BetConstruct will be one of the highlights of the show, and the company’s LatAm Regional Director Anna Shahbazyan talked to Focus Gaming News about the expectations for this year’s G2E, as well as BetConstruct’s plans for the region.
BetConstruct is competing for Digital Product and Digital Industry Supplier of the year at Global Gaming Awards 2019 during G2E Las Vegas. The company has also signed as the Lead Partner of GGA 2019. What are the expectations?
Our nominations this year are quite strong. BetConstruct’s Sportsbook and Fantasy Sports solution will be competing for two significant titles of Digital Product and Digital Industry Supplier of the year.
Our Sportsbook is a fully managed sports betting platform that powers businesses of many global operators and allows them to stand out in the highly competitive market. What comes to Fantasy Sports solution which is already seeing success in the US market, the multi-platform multi-lingual software contains all the features of DFS and more. Our global network connecting fantasy sports providers suits the needs of global fantasy sports lovers regardless of the region. Being shortlisted at such prestigious award is already a mark of approval, but we are looking for more.
The company is recognised as one of the most influential brands in the sports betting, eSports and online casino markets. How do events like G2E Las Vegas boost the developing of BetConstruct in each market?
Localised events give a perfect detailed perspective on the industry in a given region. At events like G2E Vegas operators and providers come together and network for the sake of building high-yielding channels for player engagement.
As G2E Las Vegas marks the buying decisions for the following 12 months, how is BetConstruct preparing its performance for this year’s event? What are the plans for the region?
The legal situation in the US market is similar to catering to 50 countries at the same time with 50 different player types preferences. And while the process of adopting legislation is still ongoing, we believe the US market has the potential of becoming the most scalable and diverse in the upcoming years.

As for now, we have good grounds to strengthening our presence in the US. With every new partnership established in this market we learn which products and services to provide, we localise our existing products and of course, bring innovative solutions.
The sports betting market has been growing since the elimination of PASPA in the US. Meanwhile, BetConstruct presented the most innovative technology for the sector. How do you assess the new market and BetConstruct’s development in North America so far? Are you introducing new technology at G2E Las Vegas?
Our multilingual Sportsbook with 65k prematch events and 40k+ live events makes operators stand out in any market due to its scale and high flexibility. Same goes to our Esports, which is a separate section on the website of our partner operators. In addition to that, both are backed by our in-house built dedicated CRM and Risk Management tools to help operators avoid the unforeseen risks of running iGaming business and keep in touch with players.
We will also talk about our Fantasy Sports, Social Gaming, the virtual gaming assistant Hoory and so much more. To new games set for launch, but will be presented at G2E Vegas. It’s Sweepstake in Madness Sweepstakes and ProFootball Sweepstakes types (a very popular entertainment in the US). And Predictor which, as the name suggests, is based on simple predictions on score of sport events.

The goal of launching our Hoory, a voice recognition technology based gaming assistant, is to deliver a fast and simplistic solution for players to spend less time on browsing through operator’s website.
By recognising the user’s voice Hoory interprets commands and performs the requested actions delivering a hands-free betting experience. Right now, Hoory understands 100+ commands and this number is growing.
BetConstruct highlights the influence of the iGaming market on land-based casino offerings. What are the challenges for both sectors in North America? How is BetConstruct facing those challenges?
The sector of land-based betting is on a raise right now in the US. BetConstruct is offering not only iGaming products for online, but it also offering products for Land-Based operations. The flexibility and “data-driven” processes give an opportunity to gaming operators to possess regular customers and maintain their current profits. The main challenges in the market are to provide high quality solutions and to bring innovation, which will determine the market needs.
BetConstruct offers the most innovative sports betting technology of the iGaming industry. How is the company staying competitive in the emergent market? Are you expanding to Latin America? What role do events like G2E Las Vegas play in the expansion’s goals?
We can definitely see that the online gambling business will obtain new legislations and requirements to protect both players and operators in the US market. However, operators should dare to be different and offer unique and creative products. We have a great deal of experience in different markets – Europe, LATAM and Asia.
Our growth in Latin America is quite visible and we anticipate the increase of our operations within other countries such as Brazil and Mexico. We can definitely see that the online gambling business will obtain new legislations in some countries. This in turn means that there is not only one leader in the market for the entire continent. We have Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. Any event held in both North and South America are great platforms to learn about the local iGaming demands and show what you can offer to the operators.
Our growth in Latin America is quite visible and we anticipate the increase of our operations within other countries such as Brazil and Mexico.
We can say that BetConstruct will continue to expand our local presence in the region, updating our technology and products to adapt to every situation and every partner.
