Vietnam: 4 arrested for gambling in a truck

The truck was parked on the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway.

Vietnam.- Traffic police in northern Vietnam have arrested four people for gambling in a truck parked on the emergency lane of the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway. The men were aged 36 and 43. According to VN Express, they said they were en route to deliver goods. They were transferred to police in Hai Duong Province.

Gambling in Vietnam is illegal outside a handful of venues and is punishable with fines of between VND100m and VND50m (US$430 to US$2,150). Vietnamese citizens are only allowed to enter two casinos, one in Phu Quoc and one in Van Don.
