SkyCity Adelaide to reveal US$242m revamp

The refurbishment has increased the casino’s capacity for live entertainment.

Australia.- SkyCity Adelaide will reveal its US$242.6m revamp at midday on Thursday, December 3.

The venues 5-star hotel has been renamed Eos by SkyCity, with four new restaurants and two new bars, including a microbrewery. The venue has also revamped gaming products and VIP gaming rooms and added modern conference and events facilities with views of the riverbank.

Capacity for live entertainment has been increased.

The opening comes after a recent three-day lockdown to comply with orders from the South Australia state government.

The project was launched in July 2017, when SkyCity committed AU$330m (US$242.6m) to plans to expand on Festival Plaza as part of the rejuvenation of the Riverbank Precinct.

SkyCity Adelaide general manager, David Christian, said: “I feel a sense of pride in what SkyCity has achieved since taking ownership 20 years ago.

“In just the past 12 months SkyCity Adelaide has supported more than 700 local suppliers and employed an extra 500 staff, as well as producing 1,000 construction jobs for the duration of the project.”

Eos by SkyCity, as well as the broader SkyCity expansion project, showcases more than AU$900,000 worth of local artwork. The collection features more than 900 pieces from a diverse group of 40 contemporary South Australian artists.

The Westward bar, the Chinese restaurant Huami and the conference and events facilities are set to open in 2021.
