Manila: Winford looks for new ways to raise revenues
The hotel and casino operator company has been exploring ways to generate revenues amid the pandemic crisis.
Philippines.- The Winford Hotel and Casino in Manila is looking for new ways to increase revenues while it remains closed due to the city’s Covid-19 lockdown.
According to the company, it is exploring other options to generate income, such as food delivery services in the name of “Winford on Wheels”. Since the pandemic was declared, the company implemented strategies focusing on promotions, tournaments and events, membership drives and VIP player offers.
Now it is also planning to partner with airline companies, create digital marketing campaigns and virtual events, and promote medical tourism. It also aims to gain a presence in campaigns run by online travel agents, seasonal and bundled packages, and tie-ups with companies that have established membership databases.
The company operates 30 gaming tables and 527 slot machines. It saw its overall gaming volume for the first six months of 2020 decrease by 45.9 per cent.
Revenue from hotel operations, along with food and beverages, bingo and others also fell significantly in the half year.
However, the company has been working to prepare its gaming floor for the “new normal,” with the expansion of the gaming area and utilisation of the third floor to accommodate slot machines while maintaining physical distancing.
