Macau.- The Public Security Police has released preliminary data indicating that 301,705 visitors entered Macau from Saturday to Monday during the Chong Yeong Festival weekend. The average number of daily visitors in Macau was just above 100,500. Monday was a public holiday in both Macau and Hong Kong.

On Saturday (October 21), there were 110,468 visitors, with 34.1 per cent arriving via the land crossing in Zhuhai. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge accounted for 32.4 per cent of arrivals.

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has reported that Macau received more than five million arrivals from Hong Kong in the first nine months of this year. That equates to 27 per cent of the total arrival number of 17.6 million.

MGTO director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes reported the figure during a roadshow in Hong Kong promoted by the MGTO and the Sports Bureau to promote the upcoming 70th Macau Grand Prix in November.
