Kangwon Land halts reopening plans again
After a new spike in positive Covid-19 cases in South Korea, company executives push reopening date back to June 15.
South Korea.- A spike in Covid-19 cases have forced Kangwon Land, the only casino where locals can legally gamble, to further delay its reopening plans.
The casino entered lockdown on February 23 and reopened the VIP floor almost a month ago with social distancing measures and safety regulations in place.
The main gaming floor was expected to reassume operations shortly but, due to the spike in cases and, Kangwon Land has put full reopening on pause following recommendations from national authorities.
The main gaming floor was set to open at the end of May, but the surge in Covid-19 positive cases lead to the plan’s suspension.
Now the reopening has been pushed back to June 15 following an emergency meeting of company executives.
