South Korea.- A day after its grand reopening date, Kangwon Land has been forced to alter its plans due to a spike of new Covid-19 cases in South Korea.
The only casino available for locals to gamble was due to reopen its main gaming floor yesterday (May 27), but has been forced to close once again after the country experienced a new spike in cases of the virus.
Authorities in the country reported 40 new cases in the previous 24 hours on Wednesday, South Korea’s biggest jump in more than 50 days.
36 of those Covid-19 cases are linked to a densely-populated area in Seoul, which has forced the casino to close once again.
Kangwon Land had been planning to reopen its main gaming floor with a maximum of 1,200 guests per day.
