India: Goa casinos will remain closed until at least May 10
The closure of Goa’s casinos has been extended until May 10 as India faces a severe health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Goa’s casinos will remain shut until at least May 10 along with gyms, colleges, schools and bars. Only essential services allowed to continue operating.
Previous to the last closure order, Goa’s casinos had been allowed to operate at 50 per cent of capacity during opening hours while complying with social distancing measures.
One of the casino operators affected is Delta Corp, which has asked the state government for a reduced payment mechanism for its casino licence fees for the period from April 2020 to October 2020.
India’s Ministry of Health reported 400,000 new cases last Saturday. According to local media, less than 10 per cent of India’s population has received a first vaccine dose.
