Vietnam: Donaco sends workers home

Workers at the operator’s Aristo International Hotel have been forced to take unpaid leave for the rest of the month.

Vietnam.- Donaco International Ltd has implemented forced unpaid leave for staff at its Aristo International Hotel until the end of the month as part of efforts to halt the spread of Coronavirus.

“In response to the slowdown in the business, Aristo management has arranged unpaid leave for many staff members in February, and has also reduced total headcount, as well as deferring various capital expenditure projects,” the company said in a statement.

The Hotel is near the border between Vietnam and China, and Donaco wants to prevent new cases of Coronavirus. The restrictions imposed by Vietnam on visitors coming from China have led to a 75% decline in the number of guests visiting the resort-casino.

Earlier this week, two casino workers were diagnosed with Coronavirus. A Malaysian man who works for Melco’s City of Dreams Macau and a 35-year-old Singapore resident who works at Resorts World Sentosa.
