China cancels passports for thousands of POGO workers
The Bureau of Immigration will support the Chinese government in deporting those hit with passport cancellations.
Philippines.- Chinese POGO workers may be deported by the Philippines Bureau of Immigration after the Chinese government cancelled their passports for involvement in illegal gambling operations, according to reports in GGRAsia.
Chinese nationals are considered undocumented once their passports are canceled by their government and BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said “this could lead to mass deportation.”
Over the weekend, the Chinese embassy revealed it had obtained a list of Chinese nationals working for POGOs. Sandoval said the BI would support the Chinese government in deporting those hit with passport cancellations.
“We would ask for a list of names. That is what we have been doing in the past. They give us a list of their nationals whose passports have been canceled so we could implement the deportation.”, she explained.
