US.- Alabama-Coushatta native tribe is about to open the doors of Naskila Entertainment bingo complex with Class II games in Texas. In a renovated building –that used to be Livingston Entertainment Center–, 365 gaming machines and a fancy restaurant will welcome Texas and Alabama’s players.
Douglas Searle, chief of commercial industry of the tribe, is in charge of the positive operation in the Naskila Entertainment Center that counts on an innovative security system. The public demand is expected to be huge, but that could mean a problem for Alabama-Coushatta executives because the place will only measure 15,000 square feet.
Operators are already beginning the plans of further expansion featuring poker and more table games, a hotel and a golf course. They have previous experience in the field as in 2001 they owned a similar salon in the state. Between 2001 and 2002 the tribe was forced to close their facilities because of a legal fight with Texas Attorney John Cornyn. Nevertheless, since last year, Alabama-Coushatta was granted with licenses for electronic betting and now they achieved this new target that could liberate them from the financial crisis.
