2015’s Spanish online gambling numbers revealed

Spain’s gambling regulator released last year’s online gambling figures and the growth in the sector was remarkable.

Spain.- According to the Spanish  gambling regulator, the Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ,) Spain’s online gaming market experienced a 26 percent increase in revenue year-on-year.

The total amount of gross gaming revenue for the full year was €319.6 million (US$355 million) and turnover increased 28 percent in comparison with 2014 to more than US$8.9 billion.

The main source of income was sport betting which experienced an increase of 49 percent year-on-year, generating US$ 199 million. Online slots market increased 80 percent totalling US$75 million, whilst poker dropped to US$ 66.53 million and so did bingo to US$8.68 million compared to the previous year.
