10th annual iGaming Asia Congress concluded successfully

The longest running dedicated C-level igaming event in Asia concluded successfully last week.

Macau.- Over a hundred C-level executives from the regional and global igaming industry gathered at the 10th Annual iGaming Asia Congress to have a first-hand look at the latest development in Asia.

Sue Schneider, Editor in Chief of the Gaming Law Review delivered the first keynote on “What I would have done differently then, if I had known what I know now” – Looking back at 10 years of iGaming in Asia and planning for the future. There was also a panel that took a closer look at the ASEAN market including the Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia before another panel centred on opportunities in India.

Mark Sutcliffe, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Football Association gave his keynote in the afternoon session on the growing synergy between sports betting and sports in the region, and where the new and existing opportunities can be found. This was followed by sessions focused on eSports and daily fantasy sports.

Conference day two focused on solutions to a successful online strategy and latest technology including payment solutions, AI and big data. Blockchain continues to be the centre of interest among delegates in gaming conferences. Besides having sessions on blockchain, cryptocurrencies and initial coin offerings (ICOs), the exhibition floor also showcased blockchain-driven companies, including True Flip, Sp8de, Fire Lotto and HEROcoin.

The other highlight of the Congress was the Startup Launchpad featuring the top two companies, BlitzPredict and Quintessence. BlitzPredict is an aggregator that uses blockchain technology for market predictions and sportsbooks, and Quintessence is an acquisition and retention technology service provider. Quintessence was voted the winner of the Startup Launchpad competition by the audience.

Investors also joined the event as launchpad judges and speakers, including Donna NguywnPhuoc, Partner at SPARQ Captial, and Rune Löderup, Chairman of GoldBlue AB. Beacon Events, the organizer of the iGaming Asia Congress is expanding their target audience to the investment sector. Beacon Events have announced they will host the inaugural Investment Opportunities in Asian Gaming from 5-7 June 2018 at Solaire Resort & Casino, Manila, Philippines. The new summit will cover the latest land-based regulatory updates and provide a comprehensive overview of the various investment and expansion opportunities.
