Tribal casinos in Mississippi to offer sports betting

Three Choctaw casinos will offer sports betting but haven’t said when operations will start.

US.- Choctaw Tribal Chief Phyllis J. Anderson has revealed that three casinos run by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians will offer sports betting. However, it is still unclear when operations will start.

Wagers on collegiate and professional sports, including horse racing, will be available in the three casinos. The Choctaws have two casinos outside the east-central Mississippi city of Philadelphia, the Silver Star and the Golden Moon, and one in south Mississippi’s Jones County, Bok Homa.

The Mississippi Gaming Commission has already proposed regulations to offer sports betting in the 28 state-licensed casinos along the Gulf Coast and the Mississippi River and could be adopted next week. State-licensed casinos could also start accepting bets on sports by late July.
