Tracey Chernay, Senior Vice President, Global Casino, Gaming and Lottery at TransAct Technologies, granted an exclusive interview to Focus Gaming News where she shared her thoughts about the first G2E Las Vegas after the latest edition in 2019.
Exclusive interview.- G2E Las Vegas is back and this is great news. Less than 24 hours before its inauguration, Tracey Chernay from TransAct Technologies shared her impressions about the importance of this kind of show and what the visitors and customers will find at TransAct’s booth, #2423.
Even though you’ve already attended NIGA 2021, G2E is the first massive in-person event in the industry to take place post-pandemic. How does it feel to go back and meet most of the gaming segment in Las Vegas?
We are so excited to be back in person and to reunite with our colleagues, clients and other industry leaders in an event of this calibre. G2E is one of the most prominent tradeshows for a reason, it is an annual event where all the latest products are displayed, and we’re thankful to return in person.
What do you plan to show at G2E and what are your expectations for the show?
On display will be the most advanced TITO printer on the market, the Epic Edge and its companion, the tabletop Epic Edge TT.
We’re also pleased to share that we will show a new feature at G2E this year – Epicentral Mobile Host! Together with the Epic Edge, Epicentral prints intelligent promotional offers at the slot machine or table games while the guest is playing.
With the addition of Epicentral Mobile host, running on an iPad or Android tablet, casino slot floor managers will have a real-time dashboard of every player and activity on every game in the casino, paired with available offers and coupons, giving them the ability to instantly deliver promotions to their best players.
Additionally, Epicentral Mobile Host can provide a drill-down list of each slot machine player session to give hosts the ability to assess if a well-timed reward can further enhance play for their customers.
If for any reason a player’s reward coupon has been damaged or lost, the host can look up and reprint rewards on-demand. Casino Marketing and Slot Floor Managers can also view active promotions and coupons and select which offer they would like to award at the moment.
We will also showcase the Epic 880 printer, which is the preferred roll printer that is incorporated into all the leading sports betting kiosks.

How important is it to attend an event in the US to expand your business in an ever-growing market like the American?
We have been fortunate to build long-term relationships with so many global casino group customers over the past twenty-plus years. Maintaining these business connections and personal relationships by supporting events such as G2E is critical.
These events offer us the opportunities to gather feedback on our products. Over time, we have learned from our customers the features they are looking for and have taken suggestions from casinos about what else to add.
Even as you continuously work on new products, as a printer manufacturer, the digitalisation of many procedures could eventually harm your business. What’s your approach to business’ transformation post Covid?
TransAct stays on top of all of the developments in cashless technology and believes that the TITO ticket remains an integral part of the overall cashless strategy for casinos for some time to come.
With that said, we will continue to adapt our business strategy as technology changes. As such, we have an established Software Center of Excellence in Las Vegas to focus on our Epicentral Software Bonusing System and the back-of-house restaurant software solutions, BOHA!.
Our top-notch software department is dedicated to creating efficient and state-of-the-art software solutions for our customers. We only expect the team to keep growing post-COVID, as more and more players return to casinos and restaurants adapt to doing more with less staff.

What are your expectations for the rest of the year and the post-pandemic era?
With our Epic Edge printer and Epicentral solution, we are bringing to casinos worldwide the most advanced printing technology that takes gaming capabilities to the next level. We are confident in our products and believe the future looks bright for TransAct past the pandemic and beyond.
