Spelinspektionen bans six companies

The Swedish gambling regulator has prohibited six companies for conducting illegal gambling activities.

Sweden.- Spelinspektionen, the Swedish gambling regulator, has revealed that it prohibited six gaming companies from providing games in the country. The ban comes the same week as the Administrative Court warned two operators.

The regulator said that it prioritises measures that contribute to gambling in a space in which companies have licences. Spelinspektionen will continue exposing those who engage in illegal online gambling by publishing a list of banned operators on its site.

The companies that were banned are Alpha Interactive Solutions, Equinox Dynamic NV, Game Tech Group NV, Orakum NV, Topia Solutions NV and Winners Entertainment Limited.

Swedish court warns operators

The Swedish Administrative Court in Linköping announced this week two judgements regarding warning and penalty fees to Genesis Global and AG Communications Ltd’s lack of control of players against the self-suspension register on spelpaus.se.

The court says that a check against Spelpaus is an important gaming liability measure and considers that the violations are so serious that Spelinspektionen has the right to decide on warning and issuing a penalty fee against the companies.

The Administrative Court also said that the regulator did the right thing at calculating the penalty fees based on the companies’ gross turnover. However, it estimates that the turnover is lower than what Spelinspektionen calculated and therefore decided to lower the penalty fee in both cases.
