PGA Tour signs up to AGA responsible gambling campaign
The golf league will produce content to promote responsible gambling as part of the AGA’s initiative.
US.- The PGA Tour has signed up to the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) ‘Have a Game Plan, Bet Responsibly’ campaign.
As part of the initiative, the golf league will develop content for its social and digital platforms that encourage responsible gambling and carry out public service announcements on PGA Tour Radio.
The PGA Tour’s official sports betting partners include BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel and PointsBet.
Its executives are reportedly hoping to use sports betting as a way to grow golf’s popularity in the US in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
VP of gaming at the PGA Tour, Scott Warfield, said in a statement: “A key pillar of the PGA Tour’s sports betting strategy is responsible gaming and ensuring our fans are equipped with the appropriate resources so they are properly prepared and educated.
“By aligning with the American Gaming Association in support of its Have A Game Plan campaign we’re able to align our efforts and provide a consistent message focused on responsible gaming.”
The PGA Tour joins the National Hockey League (NHL), which teamed up with the AGA’s responsible gambling initiative last year.
