NHL signs up to AGA’s responsible gambling campaign
The NHL is the second professional sports league to partner with the AGA to promote responsible gambling.
US.- The National Hockey League (NHL) has signed up to the American Gambling Association’s (AGA) “Have A Game Plan, Bet Responsibly” responsible gambling campaign
The NHL will promote the initiative across in-arena and digital marketing assets, showing videoboard images and carrying out public announcements.
Animations specifically related to hockey will also be used to encourage responsible betting within the particular sport.
NHL Chief Business Officer, Keith Wachtel, said: “The National Hockey League is proud to partner with the American Gaming Association on this vital initiative to educate NHL fans about the importance of responsible betting.
“The fan experience remains one of our highest priorities as more hockey fans than ever have the opportunity to legally and responsibly bet in their home states.
“Ensuring that our passionate fans know how to participate in this exciting new opportunity is important, and we’re thrilled to be working with the AGA to share the responsibility in this worthy education.”
Last month, the AGA formed a partnership with NASCAR, the first professional sports league to partner the campaign. NASCAR is also developing co-branded content with the AGA to encourage bettors to act responsibly when wagering.
