Online betting revenue increases in Italy
Official figures show that combined revenue increased by almost 20% when compared to September 2017.
Italy.- According to official figures released by Italy’s gambling regulator, retail and online sports betting licensees in the country generated combined revenue of €139.6 million during last month’s operations.
The results achieved by the licensees represents a 19% increase when compared to the same month last year. Year-to-date revenue increased approximately 38% to €1.1 billion, almost half of it achieved by online betting, which accounted €472 million, or up 39.1%.
Online betting revenue rose 25.7% to €60.5 million, and the market was led by Planetwin365, which took 16.2% of September’s total share. In second place was Bet365, which accounted for 15.5% of the market, Snaitech with 10.5%.
Online casino revenue also increased in Italy 16.8% year-on-year to €58.6 million. PokerStars led the market with a 9.4% share of September’s total, closely followed by Lottomatica’s 8.7% and Sisal’s 8.2%.
