Northern Ireland considers reopening of venues

Northern Ireland is moving more slowly than the rest of the UK, but authorities plan a full reopening for June.

UK.- While restrictions have begun to loosen elsewhere in the UK, with betting shops open again in England from this week and casinos due to follow in May, Northern Ireland remains closed.

However, this week, ministers at the Northern Ireland Assembly in Stormont, revealed they are considering the reopening of non-essential retail by the end of this month.

Some “close contact” retail, such as hairdresser’s and beauty salons, could reopen next week with other retail, including the gaming and attractions industry, opening by April 30. It’s expected that casinos, bars and pubs will remain closed until May 10.

A full reopening of all businesses is planned for June 1.
