Sports wagers down 76% in Nevada
Bettors wagered just $141.2million in March amid the on-going Coronavirus crisis.
US.- Sportsbooks in Nevada have reported a 76 per cent year on year drop in wagers in March due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the global sporting blackout.
Wagers for the month reached just $141.2million according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
March is normally one of Nevada’s strongest months for sports betting, with sportsbooks generating a record-setting $596.7million in in wagers last year.
Nevada sportsbooks reported a $1.45million net win in March 2020, the lowest the state has produced for the month since 1993.
To help overcome the global sports blackout, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has allowed sportsbooks to offer markets on eSports for the first time.
