NBA selects William Hill as sports betting partner
The UK-based bookmaker William Hill is now able to use the NBA’s official data game and logos across its sports betting products.
US.- The National Basketball Association (NBA) and William Hill announced a sports betting partnership on Wednesday. The deal sets William Hill as the league’s Authorized Sports Betting Operator of the NBA in the US.
When announcing the news, the company said that it has the rights to use official NBA betting data and league marks across its mobile platforms and its sportsbooks in the US. On the other hand, the NBA will promote the company across its digital assets. They also said that they will collaborate on practices to protect the integrity of the sport.
Dan Shapiro, Vice President of Strategy & Business Development of William Hill US, said that the partnership benefits customers and partners nationwide while also promoting legalised betting on NBA events. “The NBA has been a leader in recognising the benefits of a legal sports betting market. We expect this to be the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the league,” he added.
The NBA said in a statement that William Hill has set a standard for sports betting in the local market. “We are delighted to partner with William Hill as they grow their business throughout the US and are excited to work together to provide a world-class experience to our fans,” added Scott Kaufman-Ross, Senior Vice President, Head of Fantasy & Gaming, NBA.
William Hill expands operations in the US
The company kicked off its sports betting operations in Iowa in late August. The sports betting app from William Hill went live in Iowa and is available for both Android and Apple. After the launch, William Hill became the first sports betting company with a mobile app in Iowa.
Current regulations in the state establish that people that wish to bet on sports must complete a registration process in person at a local casino. The process starts through the app, but they must complete registration at a William Hill SportsBook in the state.
